The Groote Education Board (formally, Groote Eylandt Bickerton Island Primary College Aboriginal Corporation) has been established to fulfil the wishes of the Anindilyakwa people on all aspects of education from birth to age 25. We have been given responsibility by the Anindilyakwa Land Council to coordinate the education elements of the Local Decision Making agreements we have with the Northern Territory Government.
GEBIPCAC is registered under the Office of Registrar of Indigenous Corporation, and has been operating since 2018. GEBIPCAC is led by a board of directors that reflects the population of the Groote Eylandt Archipelago, and is supported by a staff responsible for implementing GEBIPCAC’s goals of support students in achieving success in their education, and in developing the future structures for improving education across the archipelago.
