The ongoing success of our college and the long-term sustainability of a whole-of-Eylandt schooling system requires the development and maintenance of key partners. This will ensure that funding, resources, business and administrative support and teaching and learning support will thrive into the future.

We are very pleased to have developed constructive working relationships with both the federal and NT governments, having secured funding from NIAA for ongoing success of our college, and from the NT government in developing and maintaining a whole-of-Eylandt schooling system under the auspices of local decision making. We meet regularly with ministerial staff and departmental stakeholders to ensure the free flow of information and to develop a shared vision for education for Anindilyakwa kids.

The King’s School partnership

We are extremely excited about a formal partnership with The King’s School in Parramatta, NSW and GEBIPCAC that was established with the support of the Yadha Muru Foundation.

“It’s important for us to have support of an experienced school in Sydney that can give us advice as we set up our college. It will be fantastic for our kids to travel to meet with students at the Kings School, and for them to come to visit us. This will help us to develop closer relationships and cross‑cultural understanding.”

Tertiary partnerships

GEBIPCAC has also developed constructive relationships with tertiary institutions with expertise in Indigenous education. For example, we are working with Charles Darwin University on a mathematics program that teaches numeracy through language, providing a culturally relevant and engaging way to support students in their progress in maths.

Boarding providers

We also work hard to develop productive relationships with NT and interstate boarding schools to support our children when they choose to continue their education off-island. Details of these relationships can be seen on our dedicated boarding page.
